Carrie Gaerte (Certified)
Carrie was introduced to Pilates through her extensive ballet training.
As a former member of the Indiana University Ballet Theatre, Carrie used
Pilates as a method of cross training as well as a general performance
enhancement. Following a knee injury during her undergraduate studies
with the I.U. Ballet Theatre, Carrie became increasingly interested in
Kinesiology and changed her focus to Athletic Training and Sports/Performing
Arts Medicine. During her graduate studies at I.U., Carrie served as the
Athletic Trainer for the Ballet department and studied Pilates under Corinna
Quintana (Lotus Pilates, Bloomington). Carrie obtained her comprehensive
Pilates Certification in 2004 after over 10 years of Pilates practice,
and has recently obtained certification through the Pilates Method Alliance
as well. Carrie holds a Master's degree in Kinesiology from Indiana Univeristy
Bloomington, and is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer. She also holds
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis, and is currently an outpatient Physical Therapist with St. Vincent Health.
