Idrienne Steiman (Master)
Idrienne's early dance training was at The Joffrey Ballet School and The Juilliard School
in New York City. She received her BS from Skidmore College in Dance plus her Masters Degree in Dance Education from UCLA. She was a faculty member at USC and moved to Indy to teach at Butler University's Dance Department in 1989. After teaching at Butler, she opened up the first Pilates studio in Indy and was the Certifying Studio for The Physicalmind Institute. She was trained in Pilates in 1985 in Los Angeles with Carol Monaco of the original Ron Fletcher studio. Idrienne has been teaching Pilates for 30 years. In the 1980ís, her most memorable workshops were with Eve Gentry. Ron Fletcher, Alan Herdman and Romana Kryzanowska. She is a Certified Laban Movement Analyst, a framework for analyzing, observing and notating movement. Her many years of participating in Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique workshops contribute to her holistic approach to teaching Pilates. Idrienne has guest taught nationally and internationally in Italy and Israel. Idrienne is enjoying teaching among the talented teachers at Pilates Indy. In addition, she teaches at Gregory Hancockís Dance Academy as well as inspiring the imagination through creative movement at the Kids Dance Outreach Program.
