Laurel Foley (Certified Pilates Instructor, Graduate Laban Certified Movement Analyst)
Laurel studied classical ballet from an early age in Santa Barbara, Ca. In 1995, Laurel was accepted into the pre-professional West Coast Ballet, where she performed all through high school. Accepted into Butler University’s prestigious dance program in 2000, Laurel earned her B.A. in Dance Pedagogy. After graduation she accepted a position at Style Dance Academy, where she has been teaching dance for 14 years.
Laurel and her husband Nate have five children. After the birth of her last child, Laurel was discouraged by how out of shape and disconnected she felt. Unsatisfied with a mindless gym workout, she looked to Pilates to rebuild her core strength. A few months into practicing Pilates, Laurel decided to enroll in the BASI Pilates teacher training program. She completed her apprenticeship at Pilates Indy and became certified in 2014. Currently Laurel teaches at both the Broad Ripple and Greenwood Pilates Indy studios. She loves to work with clients of all ages and abilities.
Most recently, Laurel completed her graduate degree in Laban Movement Analysis at Columbia Chicago. Laban Movement Analysis is a system for analyzing, observing and notating movement, that help bridge the gap from Pilates into daily life.
