Franklin Method--Healthy Spine
with Susan (Northside)--$40 for 2 hour workshop.

The spine is a masterpiece of design containing over 100 joints supported by muscles and ligaments. Why do so many people suffer from debilitating pain associated with the spine? Complex design requires conscious maintenance. Why do we have a spine? Why is it shaped the way it is? This workshop will explain spinal evolution, design and function using imagery and simple movement. Anew embodied understanding of the spine will allow for all daily movement and exerciser to benefit spinal health.
* Practice exercises to strengthen the intervertebral discs, joints and muscles
* Learn how the ligaments and discs interact to strengthen the spine
* Experience the rotational and coupled motion dynamics of the spine
* Understand which cues in exercise, Pilates, yoga and dance support optimal spinal function

Franklin Method--Pelvic Power for Core Integration
with Susan (Northside)--$40 for 2 hour workshop.

This workshop focuses on the practical application of imagery techniques to increase the power, alignment and flexibility of the pelvic joints and muscles. To balance the action of the joints we will learn the natural bone rhythms that support the healthy function of the lower back, knees and feet. We look at the anatomy and biomechanics of the pelvis and use imagery and language to experience freedom of movement throughout the body. The participants will leave the workshop with a sense of aligned strength through the pelvic floor with the feet firmly balanced and the spine long and buoyant.
